5 Things We Loved About TNW Conference 2017
We are back from The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam and it was one of the most fun and exciting events that we have attended.
Apart from the splendid weather in this pleasant city, the 3-day event was made special by the great set of speakers, startup exhibitors, investors and attendees. Each day of the event was well organized and executed smoothly, keeping the energy high and the vibe ecstatic throughout!
Here are 5 things that we loved about TNW Conference 2017:
It’s the most close-knit startup conference we’ve been to.
The conference struck the right balance between quality and quantity in terms of its size and events. It kept the attendees engaged throughout and was able to maintain the momentum on all three days. In all, it was attended by over 15,000 people, 275 investors and 250 exhibiting startups. This resulted in 1788 pre-booked investor-startup meetings. The event was so wonderfully executed that each exhibiting startup was able to maximise the value it derived from these custom-made meetings.
It had a great speaker line-up.
Every day we consume content on Snapchat, Tumblr and 9GAG for a dose of humour, entertainment and knowledge. At TNW Conference, we got a chance to know what makes these platforms so engaging. With speakers such as Imran Khan, Chief Strategist, Snapchat; David Karp, CEO, Tumblr and Ray Chan, Cofounder and CEO, 9GAG, we got the most interesting insights from these giants of modern times. The overall speaker line-up was so good that attendee queue ran all the way up to the entrance gate of the venue!
Barbeque, beers, burgers – the TNW folks had their priorities right.
What made this conference even more exciting was the warm aroma of barbeque wafting through the venue while attendees passed around some good old, cold beer. This made sure that the event had a relaxed and happy vibe throughout. The second day ended with a barbeque that brought all the attendees together for an informal gathering.
The TNW organising team is amazing.
The event promotions were kickass right from the start! The Startup League’s special program, ‘Tickets to Boost’, was integrated and executed by the team so well, they left us very impressed with the way they function! The smooth execution made the event so much more fun and enjoyable for everyone.
The timing was perfect!
The event is organised every year in the middle of the beautiful Amsterdam spring. The sun doesn’t go down until 10pm which ensures there’s a lot of time post the actual event to network, converse, etc. The venue was in the middle of Westerpark, a beautiful urban park that plays host to lots of cultural events. The setting could not be more true to its host city!
Startup League will be supporting 5 startups with 100% sponsorship for their ALPHA Stand at the RISE Conference 2017 (July 11 – 13) in Hong Kong and the Web Summit 2017 (November 6 – 9) in Lisbon, Portugal.
