 In Business, Interviews

Probably the most annoying part of any transaction or purchase is figuring out what to do with the receipt. You usually crumple and shove it in your pocket only to discard it later or maybe you discard it instantly. Whatever the case, receipts aren’t valued.

Smartly though, Stamplet.tech has found a way to make your receipts the most valuable entity of your purchase. The Stamplet app allows users to snap their receipts and avail discounts and coupon codes in exchange.

We spoke with Nav Singh, Co-Founder at Stamplet, to give us an overview on how the Stamplet app works and how it helps businesses to better understand and target their customers. Read on!

What inspired you to start Stamplet? Tell us the story.

I’ve always felt that a receipt is such a waste of paper as it always gets stashed into my wallet and is eventually thrown away.

Last year, while doing my official expenses, I realized the amount of information that this “worthless” receipt has – where I had my coffee, what I ate, how much I spent on a meal and more.

Having spent 8 years in market research, I was baffled to learn that a lot of valuable information was being thrown away. That’s why Stamplet was born.

Give us an overview of how the Stamplet app works.

Users can snap any receipt using our phone app to earn points in the form of stamps. They can then redeem these stamps for exciting discounts, offers in the near future. The Stamplet app is an easy-to-use solution that adds value to receipts.

30 Startups on Radix Domains Set to RISE in Hong Kong

RISE 2018 will be flanked by startups on Radix domains from various geographies that are slated to receive booth sponsorship, booth goodies, and much more! Some of the startups headed to RISE 2018 with the Startup League are: Hong Kong 1. Chatcampaign.tech replaces spammy promotions and emails with meaningful automated marketing conversations and messages.

You are headed to the 2018 edition of the RISE Conference. How do you plan to make the most of this event?

I am really excited about the RISE Conference where we are going to do a ‘trash to rewards’ campaign. Have a receipt? Come to our booth, throw it in our Stamplet trashcan and take a discount code from one of our partners. This campaign highlights our tagline “Your receipt is worth more”.

What are your future plans for Stamplet?

In the last 3 months, we have already processed more than 40,000 receipts. In the next 6 months, we will be adding more offers from offline merchants (restaurants, spas & shopping), hence providing more value to our users for an otherwise ‘worthless’ receipt.

How does Stamplet help businesses understand and target their customers?

We are disrupting the way you interact with customers.

  • Stamplet Engage: Say you are a wine merchant who wants to understand the number of wine bottles that people consume in a month. Just log into the merchant app, select your target audience (in this case wine drinkers), and ask them about how much wine they consume in a month. Incentivize this query and get 100+ responses in under 24 hours.
  • Stamplet Connect: Say you started a Japanese restaurant. Via our merchant app, we can help you target people who love Japanese food, eat out on a Monday / Tuesday (since they are generally the slowest days), spend over $1,000 on a meal and are in the vicinity of 5km. Simply incentivize your target audience with a 30% offer in under 30 seconds.

Why did you choose a .tech domain name? How is it helping you develop a unique online brand?

It was an obvious choice. We are a marketing tech company that’s using technology to disrupt the way businesses interact with consumers. Having a .tech domain helps us reinforce our reason for existence.

As a member of the Startup League, Stamplet is headed to the RISE Conference 2018 with full sponsorship for their ALPHA package.
