50+ curated startups on Radix domains exhibit at Web Summit
First of its kind exposure to nTLDs at a mainstream startup event of such scale.
Radix, one of the largest domain portfolio registries, announced that its program, the Startup League, supported over 50 startups on its domain extensions at the annual Web Summit conference held in Lisbon, Portugal, earlier this month. The Startup League offered a comprehensive go-to-market package designed specifically to empower early stage startups. The benefit suite included upto 100% sponsorship discount on exhibit booth fees, branded merchandise, media coverage and exposure to investors and industry influencers.
Over 500 startups from around the world had applied to exhibit at Web Summit with the support of the Startup League. Of these, 50+ startups were chosen and one of them, WATR.TECH from United Kingdom, was ranked among the top 3 finalists at the event’s coveted PITCH competition that had over 1000 applicants.
Web Summit has been rated as one of the leading startup conferences across the globe. It was for the first time that an event as big as Web Summit had 50+ startups on nTLDs coming together for an exhibit to a massive audience of 60,000+ attendees, 2,000+ startups, 1,000+ investors and 1,200+ speakers which included Al Gore, former Vice President of USA and current Chairman of Generation Investment Management; Francois Hollande, former President, France; and Margrethe Vestager, the European Commissioner for Competition who recently slapped a bill of $2.7B on Google on antitrust issues.
